Available Positions

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Superintendent is responsible for all field production, reporting, documenting and quality control for the entire project. Job responsibilities consist of supervising all self-performed erosion control, clearing, grading and utility installation operations, as well as all subcontractors performing work for the company during the duration of each project. This position will be required to complete time production sheets, as well as review and approve daily time sheets generated by the foreman, working on allocated projects. Other job responsibilities consist of management of materials which includes verifying delivered and ordered quantities, ensuring compaction requirements are met, and obtaining sufficient testing and inspection documentation for the company’s performed Scope of Work. The Superintendent shall manage the installation of erosion control and employ best management practices. The Superintendent is responsible for required as-builts for the entire project Scope of Work. This position requires consistent communication, coordination and management of all the company personnel, equipment and contracted subcontractors to maintain the critical job path. Overall safety, quality control and protection of the equipment and tools are the responsibility of the Superintendent, as well as the cost performance for the entire project. The maintenance and security of the company pick-up truck and all tools will be the Superintendent’s sole responsibility. The Superintendent must understand and implement EDI’s Material Weights and Proper Lifting Device program, as well as all safety protocols. The person in this position MUST maintain a current legal driver’s license acceptable to EDI’s insurance carrier.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of utility construction experience.
  • Three years of operating experience
  • One year of operating experience on an excavator installing utility mainline.
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift 85 lbs.
  • Willing to work in confined spaces
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours and occasional weekends.
  • Participate in drug screening program.
  • Ability to efficiently read and interpolate layout and grades from civil drawings.
  • Ability to efficiently read and understand structural drawings.
  • Understands all types of construction staking with the ability to perform basic layout.
  • Laser training and certification
  • DOT Flagger training and certification
  • Level 1A Erosion Control training and certification.
  • Excavation Competent Person training and certification (8 hour course)
  • Confined Space Competent Person training and certification (8 hour course)
  • CPR/1st Aid Training and Certification

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Pipe Foremen is responsible for utility field production and quality control of all utilities install by his pipe crew. Job responsibilities consist of supervising of all utility installation operations. This position will be required to complete a time production sheet or sheets for his crew, daily. Other job responsibilities consist of checking in of materials and verifying quantities, maintaining proper trench line compaction and obtaining testing documentation, obtaining all required testing and inspections, assisting in erosion control installation and maintenance requirements. The Pipe Foremen is responsible for as-builts of all utilities his crew installs as well as the responsibility of protecting all existing utilities. This position requires continual communication and coordination with the Project Superintendent and maintaining the critical job path. The maintenance and security of the pipe truck and all the tools and truck equipment will be the Pipe Foreman’s sole responsibility at all times. The Pipe Foreman must understand and utilize EDI’s Material Weights and Proper Lifting Device chart. Pipe Foreman must maintain a current legal driver’s license acceptable to EDI’s insurance carrier.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Estimator/Project Manager at Earth Development will be an integral part of the management and sales teams. With specific focus on estimating jobs, scheduling the critical path of the project, ordering materials, contracting with subcontractors, managing field budgets and cost control through coordination and innovation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 year degree in either Construction, Engineering (Civil) or related field
  • Strong computer skills in both Word and Excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to perform takeoffs with Agtek software

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in estimating civil projects
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid Software
  • Experience in Project Management
